About Konto Khalo

Konto Khalo is a design studio that transforms construction and architectural waste into functional, collectible design objects. Each piece is handmade, and due to our process different kinds of waste used, no two items are identical.

All content, designs, images, text, and graphics on this website are the property of Konto Khalo and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without oral or written permission.

Disclaimer

Each product by Konto Khalo is individually crafted using reclaimed and recycled materials. Variations in color, texture, pattern, and finish are natural and intentional. These distinctions are not flaws but part of the story each piece tells, no two items are ever the same.

Use at Your Own Risk: Konto Khalo products are designed with care and intended for decorative or functional use. However, Konto Khalo assumes no liability for any damage, injury, or loss caused by misuse, incorrect installation, or failure to follow care instructions.

Material Disclosure: Due to the nature of repurposed materials, elements such as concrete, glass, or tile fragments may contain imperfections or behave differently over time compared to conventional materials. These are considered part of the aesthetic and conceptual value of the work.

Product information

All products are made using recycled or salvaged materials. Variations in color, texture, and pattern are intentional and part of the design language. Each item is one-of-a-kind or made in limited runs. We strive to ensure all product details and prices are accurate. Errors or omissions will be corrected as needed.

Pricing and Payment

Prices are listed in ZAR. Payments are accepted via direct to our account at the present time. For custom commissions, a deposit may be required before work begins.

Returns and Refunds

Due to the unique, handmade nature of our products and the use of reclaimed materials, our policy is as follows:

• Final Sale: All "Ready to Ship" collectible objects and limited-run pieces are final sale. We do not offer returns or exchanges for change of mind.
• Material Variations: Variations in texture, color, and finish are intentional characteristics of salvaged materials and are not considered defects.
• Refund Processing (EFT): In the rare event that a refund is approved (e.g., transit damage that cannot be repaired), the refund will be processed via Direct Bank Transfer. You will be required to provide a bank confirmation letter or verified account details. Refunds may take 5–10 business days to reflect in your account once processed, depending on inter-bank clearing times.
• Shipping Costs: Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

Damages during Transit

If an item arrives damaged, please contact us at kgosietsileleburu@kontokhalo.co.za within 48 hours of delivery. You must include high-quality photographs of both the damaged item and the original packaging. We will assess the damage to determine if a repair or a refund is appropriate.

Customs & Collaborations

A project proposal and written agreement will outline the scope, timeline, and pricing. Konto Khalo reserves the right to decline projects that don’t align with our creative direction or values.

Environmental responsibility

We work with reclaimed materials, promoting sustainability and mindful design. By purchasing from us, you support a circular design economy. Your information is kept private and secure. We do not sell or share your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
